No. Everything is up to chance. It’s kind of like free falling: there’s no specific or destined path you’re taking on the way down, and you can put in effort to change your path a little bit. But either way you end up in the same place.

Fifteen. What are your career goals?
I really don’t know that much yet. I want to do something with language - that could be anything. For now, I’m just focusing on getting a degree on my first attempt. That’s something no woman in my family has been able to do, ever.

Blue.

White lilies, and the blossoms off magnolia trees.

I went to a free Plain White T’s concert once, but I had to leave before the show really started because my mom got “cold”.

Yes. When I was young I was in the backseat of a taxi with bald tires that first drove directly into oncoming traffic, then overcorrected and crashed into the side of an overpass. Which almost threw my mom and I over and onto the highway below us.

I procrastinate 95% of the time. The other 5% I get things done ridiculously early or quickly.

Piercings or tattoos, if you have any.

I don’t have any. My mom has wanted me to get my ears pierced ever since I was born - she literally asked the doctor to do it, but he forgot. I don’t really believe in getting either, because I don’t believe in applying physical harm to your body for the simple sake of aesthetic beauty, but things change. I may get a small tattoo, somewhere, and pierce something someday. I don’t think I’d ever get a frivolous tattoo - nothing you’d ever see on L.A. Ink. But if it had some true meaning to it, and was something that I felt compelled to get for a serious reason, then definitely. I’m not that against it. 

Your middle name, and how you feel about it.

My middle name is Rizelle, and I kind of like it. I never used to, because I didn’t think it fit me at all. Rizelle is 100% original, because my mom made it up herself. In that sense, and because not many people I know have the name Jocelyn, I think it fits me because it’s also unique. I kind of wish it had a better ring to it though - Rizelle? It doesn’t roll off the tongue. As far as middle names go, though, it’s awesome - original and kind of awkward, just like me.

I have a stomachache, I had sooooo much ice cream after dinner

I’m confused, I have no idea how I can salvage things between everyone.

I’m tired because my desk lamp has a yellow light bulb and those always make me sleepy.

I’m stressed about this Latin test tomorrow, idk if I should take it or skip since I skipped class during the last one.

I’m annoyed. My mom played Plants vs. Zombies for like seven hours today. She’s next to me, playing it now, and the volume is so loud and I can’t get any work done

  2. How my mom raised me. In some ways it sucked ass, but she helped me be a strong person.
  3. My Asian hair. It’s so…Asian.
  4. I’m fun-sized, though I’ll never stop wishing I was just two inches taller.
  5. My name. I think it suits me.
  6. My hands, I guess. They’re piano hands. They help me type fast.
  7. I like that it doesn’t take much for me to be at peace.
  8. I used to hate that I had such a boring childhood. I’ve never been sledding or on a boat or skiing. But now I guess this means I have tons of adventures to have in the next few years. haha.
